Satsuma Meiji Period Signed Covered Circular Box
Stunning hand-painted antique (circa 1868-1912), Japanese Satsuma covered porcelain box with 3 gilded gold feet is impeccably detailed. Geishas, teahouse & a koi pond adorn the lid, with mountains & pine trees in the distance. The lower half of the box has detailed wisteria flowers draping down the sides. Inside, orchids are painted on the lid, and at the bottom. The exterior bottom of the box is signed. The lid has several very small edge chips, price has been adjusted to reflect this.
